• we're all still moving forward we all still have vision we're all still making plans some of us a lot bigger planners than others but are you planning anything this year like that is there a matterhorn on the horizon in your story in your family anything you're thinking about to say it a different way what do you want to get out of 2022.

• what is it that when this year comes to a close that you you want to say i went after that what is it on the horizon in this year that you're saying i'm willing to actively pursue that

• for month after month after month after month and all the energy that went into pursuing standing on the top of that mountain and i'm i'm just wondering is there anything on the horizon in 2022 that you're thinking right now i'm willing to put that kind of pursuit into that

• more time getting to know better the king

• whatever happens this year i'm willing to put in the effort the energy the work the planning the commitment to take the flight to do the thing so that i can spend more time with the king and i can know the king

• more at the end of 2022 than i know him right now

• he himself is encouraging us and these are his words he says therefore i tell you this is matthew's gospel and the most famous sermon of all time i tell you do not worry about your life now that seems like a throwaway phrase right there but how much is packed into that one statement

• we we are a people that are immersed in worry about our life and then jesus just steps into the equation 09:14 and says oh by the way don't worry about your life in other words the thing that you are an expert at doing you need to resign from that and here's why he says don't worry about what you will eat or drink or about your body about what you will wear and to which i reply well it's important what you eat and drink and it's important in our culture that you wear something and so these are necessities these are not options but he says is life is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes

• for the pagans run after all these things in other words on their 20 22 lists are my life the things that i think are important for me in my rhythm and in my lane he says they're all running after these things but he said your heavenly father knows that you need them but seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things what what what i'm gonna eat what i'm gonna drink what i'm 11:37 gonna wear where i'm gonna live uh the necessities of life the things that are important for life he said all these things will be given to you as well

• so he sums it up again therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself each day has enough trouble of its own

• jesus himself is saying to you and me in the midst of your plan seek first the kingdom of god in the midst of everything else that's on the horizon seek first his righteousness in other words put god first

• before everything else you're concerned about be concerned about your relationship with me put me first in everything in your thinking and everything in your affections and in everything in your doing and all this other stuff

• i'm telling you all that's going to be added all that's going to be given all that's going to come if you make the primary decision i'm going to seek first the kingdom of god
