今後注目されるのは、北米における電池を中心としたEV関連の投資だ。米バイデン政権下で2022年8月にインフレ抑制法（IRA）が成立し、EVは条件を満たせば税控除を受けられる。対象となるためには、EVの最終組み立てをメキシコとカナダを含む北米で実施し、米国など特定の国で生産した電池や電池材料を使う必要がある。
